How to apply
The form is online only. Keep your documents scanned and under the size limit before you start.
- Register or complete OTRNew users create an account with mobile, email and password. If the portal asks for an OTR (One Time Registration) number, finish that first.
- Log in and complete My ProfileUpload your photo, verify the OTP, then save the profile.
- Open Services, then Scholarship ServicesChoose your scheme and the correct financial year (2026-27).
- Fill the form and upload documentsUse “Save as Draft” while you work. Re-check name, Aadhaar and bank details.
- Accept the terms and submitA submitted form cannot be edited. Save or print the confirmation.
- Follow up with your instituteThe principal or institute desk verifies the form. Watch the status for a “query” and answer it quickly.

Who is eligible
You must be a Gujarat resident studying at a recognised institute. Category, income and marks depend on the scheme. Income limits below are the ones listed on our scheme pages; confirm on the portal.

How much can you get
Awards run from ₹940 to ₹2,00,000 a year, depending on scheme, course and category. Loans go up to ₹25 lakh.
Check your application status
Log in at digitalgujarat.gov.in, open Scholarship, then the Service Request section. The status column tells you the stage.

Payment and DBT
Money goes straight to your bank account by Direct Benefit Transfer. It typically arrives within a month after approval, and in two instalments when a state share applies.
If payment has not arrived
- Check the status is “Approved”.
- Make sure your account is active, not dormant.
- Confirm Aadhaar seeding and NPCI mapping with your bank. Linking alone may not be enough.
- Check the name on the bank account matches your Aadhaar.
- Payment status shows in the Service Request section after approval; the transfer itself can take days to reach the bank.
- Still stuck? Call the helpline with your application number.
Why applications get rejected
Most rejections are avoidable.
Before you submit
- Wrong or mismatched name, Aadhaar or bank details
- Blurry, cropped or oversized uploads
- Old income certificate
- Missing photo in the profile
- Wrong scheme or wrong financial year
After you submit
- Ignoring a query from the authority
- Not completing institute verification
- Dormant or unmapped bank account
- Giving false information, which cancels the form at any stage
- Trying to apply offline; only online forms count
Special cases students ask about
Freeship card for SC post-matric
The freeship card lets you take admission without paying tuition and hostel fees up front. Students in SC post-matric schemes are often told to get it first from the competent authority, then apply. Ask your institute which route your course follows.
CA, CS and other professional courses
Students pursuing CA ask whether a scheme covers their course fees. Eligibility and the course field you select depend on the scheme, so read the scheme page and confirm with the helpline. Your college or institute still has to verify your documents.
MYSY is a separate application
MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana) has its own portal and window. It offers tuition fee support for UG and PG students. See the MYSY guide. For 2026-27 the window reported closing on 30 Oct.
Changing mobile number or principal details
School or institution users log in, open Help, choose “Update the Principal’s Name and Mobile Number”, verify with OTP, then update. This can be done once a year.
Gap in your studies
Upload a gap affidavit if you have a break of one year or more.
Digital Gujarat login: student, school and SSO
Digital Gujarat (also typed as Digital Gujrat or Dijital Gujarat) is the state’s e-services portal. Scholarships are one service inside it. Use only the official address, www.digitalgujarat.gov.in, and ignore lookalike sites.
Student or citizen login
Choose citizen login, enter your registered mobile number or email, password and captcha, then confirm the OTP. After login open Services, then Scholarship Services.
SSO ID login
If you already hold a Gujarat SSO ID, use the SSO sign-in option instead of creating a second account. One person should keep one account only.
School or institution login
Principals and institute users sign in with the school or institute user type. They verify student forms and can update the principal’s name and mobile number once a year from the Help menu.
Forgot password or no OTP
Use “Forgot password” and wait a minute before you press resend. If the OTP still fails, the mobile number on the account may be old. Call the helpline with your name and application number.

Scholarship by category: OBC, EWS, General, SC, ST
Your category decides your window, your certificate and your scheme list. Open yours.
OBC / SEBC students
OBC and SEBC students apply through the post-matric OBC/SEBC window. For 2026-27 it ran from 6 July to 30 September 2026 and is now closed; last year it reopened from 10 November to 10 December 2025, so watch the portal. You need a digital SEBC/OBC caste certificate, a fresh income certificate and, where asked, a non-creamy-layer certificate. Guides report that both a maintenance allowance and tuition fees are paid to your Aadhaar-linked bank account. Exact amounts depend on your course.
EWS students
EWS students sit in the same window as OBC/SEBC. You need an EWS or income certificate that is valid for the year. Income limits can change, so read the current notice before you pay for a certificate.
General category students
Most Digital Gujarat scholarships are meant for reserved categories. General category students usually look at MYSY (a merit and income based tuition fee scheme) and at the education loan schemes for non-reserved students. See the MYSY guide.
SC students
SC students have the widest list: pre-SSC, pre-matric, GOI post-matric, girls’ schemes, food bill, coaching, medical and engineering aid, loans and awards. Use the scheme finder above. For 2026-27 the SC window was reopened and closes on 31 October.
ST students
ST post-matric applications run from 1 September to 30 November 2026. Other ST schemes in our list include the Eklavya Model Residential Schools, girls’ literacy residential schools and the foreign study loan for ST students.
Minority and NTDNT students
These students applied in the 6 July to 30 September post-matric window. One third-party guide reports a family income limit of ₹2 lakh for minority students. Confirm the figure on the portal.

Many people search by year. Here are both, so you can see how often windows were extended or reopened.

Freeship card and food bill
Freeship card
A freeship card is issued by the competent authority. It lets you take admission without paying tuition and hostel fees first. Students in Gujarat ask about it for SC, ST and OBC categories, and it is often needed before the post-matric form.
- Log in and open the freeship card service (the name can differ by department).
- Fill the form and upload caste certificate, income certificate and admission proof.
- Submit and track the status in the Service Request section.
- Show the issued card to your institute.

Food bill assistance (SC)
Hostel residents get ₹1,500 a month for 10 months, a total of ₹15,000. Family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh, and you must follow the GOI post-matric rules. The last date follows the SC post-matric window.

Scholarships for Std 9, 10, 11 and 12

Girls’ schemes such as Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati are run by the Education Department and are usually applied for through the school, not always on Digital Gujarat. Ask your school office and check the current notice.

MYSY scholarship
MYSY is a separate Gujarat scheme with its own portal, mysy.gujarat.gov.in. It supports tuition fees for eligible UG and PG students.
- 2026-27 fresh, renewal and delayed forms closed on 30 October, 6 pm.
- Document verification at the help centre runs to about 5 November.
- Renewal uses the same deadline.
- Check the status and results on the MYSY portal, not on Digital Gujarat.

What is the last date for Digital Gujarat Scholarship 2026-27?
As of 31 October 2026, post-matric SC (reopened) closes on 31 October and post-matric ST on 30 November. OBC/SEBC and similar categories closed on 30 September, MYSY on 30 October and pre-matric on 31 August. Dates can be extended, so confirm on digitalgujarat.gov.in.
Is the Digital Gujarat Scholarship an official government scheme?
Yes. The Gujarat Government runs it through the Digital Gujarat portal. This website is an independent guide and is not the portal itself.
How much scholarship can I get?
Amounts range from ₹940 to ₹2,00,000 a year, depending on scheme and course. Education loans go up to ₹25 lakh.
Who can apply?

Can I edit the form after submitting?
No. Check every field and upload before you press submit. You can respond to a query from the authority.
Why is my status blank?
A blank status usually means the form has not moved to the next stage. Confirm it was finally submitted, then ask your institute desk and call 1800-233-5500.
When will I receive the money?
Usually within about a month after approval, by DBT to your bank account. A state share can mean two instalments.
Why has my payment not come?
Common causes are a dormant account, missing Aadhaar seeding or NPCI mapping, or a name mismatch. Check each, then contact the helpline.
Can I apply for more than one scheme?
Some schemes can be combined and some cannot. Each scheme page lists its own rules.

On the MYSY portal, mysy.gujarat.gov.in, with your application details. Digital Gujarat does not show MYSY status.
Is Digital Gujrat the same as Digital Gujarat?
Yes. The official portal is www.digitalgujarat.gov.in. Spellings like Digital Gujrat or Dijital Gujarat all refer to it.
