Free Cycle to SC Girls in 9th Class
Free cycle to SC Girls studying in 9th class is introduced by Government of Gujarat to promote education by gifting bicycle to girl students under Sarasvati Sadhana Yojana.
The girls of SC studying in standard IX are provided with free cycle for travelling from home to school and vice versa. This will motivate them to go to school and pursue higher studies.
Eligibility Criteria: Free Cycle to SC Girls in 9th Class
The girls from scheduled caste community, studying in 9th standard are eligible to receive a free cycle.
The family income of the students should be up to 6.0 lakh (For Rural & Urban areas)
Documents Required: Free Cycle to SC Girls in 9th Class
The following documents are mandatory to be provided to school administration for applying online for the free cycle.
- 1 photo, passport size
- Aadhaar Card / identity proof
- Caste Certificate from the concerned authority
- Marksheets
- School Identity Card
- Any other document as stated by the principal of school
Application Process
The eligible students have to contact the principal of school
The concerned principal, after verification of eligibility, will submit the application online at Digital Gujarat Portal.
The proposal received with complete list of eligible students will be verified by the concerned authorities. The approval thereafter will be communicated to the concerned principal of the school.
The expenses for the scheme will be covered within budgetary provisions and the allotted grant for current financial year.
The allocated grant cannot be used for any other purpose.
The purchase policy of the Government shall be strictly followed.
Mode of Delivery of Free Cycle to SC Girls in 9th Class
The bicycles will be purchased from selected organizations and delivered in a single color with a specific logo to the concerned school.
The students will receive their free cycle through their respective schools.
Implementing Office
The free cycle to SC girls in the 9th class is administered by the District Deputy Director (Schedule Caste Welfare) of the concerned district for urban areas and Social Welfare Officer (Panchayat) for rural areas, under the Government of Gujarat alongside other Digital Gujarat Scholarship.
