The MYSY scholarship, also known as Chief Minister Yuva Swavalamban Yojana, is a financial assistance program aimed at providing education and related facilities to deserving students and economically weaker sections (EWS) of Gujarat, promoting equal opportunities for career development.
The State Government has introduced the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana to support families facing financial difficulties. This scheme enables bright students from such families to pursue higher and better education by providing aid in the form of fee waivers, hostel & food bill assistance, support for books and equipment, free uniforms, age relaxation, and more.
This article will explain the eligibility criteria, application process, document requirements, benefits, last date, and other relevant details of the program.
Eligibility Criteria for MYSY Scholarship
The following eligibility criteria are mandatory for submission of MYSY scholarship application:

For Diploma level courses | Secured 80% or more in matric exam |
For Graduation level courses | Secured 80% or more in class 12, science or general stream |
For Diploma to Degree courses (D2D) | Secured 65% or more marks in diploma examination |
For Renewal of scholarship | Secured 50% or more marks in the previous year when the scholarship was availed, as the scholarship benefits can be utilized for the entire course duration. Additionally, the attendance for that year must be at least 75%. |
For Diploma or Graduation level courses | Children of Jawans, belong to Gujarat, martyred while serving in Indian army, central or state paramilitary forces Secured 65% or more marks in 10 or 12 class |
- The students who secured the required percentage in class 10 or 12 General/Science stream examination from Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Gandhinagar, or other recognized Boards are eligible for scholarship.
- The family income should not exceed ₹ 6.0 lakh
Income Limit Relaxation
In the case of a property sale or receipt of claims (arrears, retirement benefits etc.), if the income exceeds ₹ 6.0 lakh but doesn’t exceed ₹ 11.0 lakh, the candidate will be considered with a relaxation for one year only.
Special Case
If a student fails to attempt 50% in previous year exams, due to a genuine reason, such as illness, the case will be reviewed by the prescribed committee. After examining the supporting evidence; it may be approved as a special case.

The following benefits can be claimed if the student is eligible for a higher education scholarship under this scheme.

Self-Supporting College: The eligible students who could not get admission in any government college due to any reason and get admission in self-supporting colleges, will be eligible for subsidy on tuition fee.
Boarding & Food Assistance: All eligible students under this scheme enrolled in graduation or diploma courses studying outside their taluka and could not get accommodation in government aid hostels will be provided hostel and food charges amounting to ₹ 1200/month for 10 months every year. These students have to submit affidavit regarding above issue.
Relaxation for Academic Failures
If a student fails in 1 to 4 subjects, they must clear them on the first attempt in ATKT. If ATKT attempted twice, the benefits of this scheme cannot be availed for that year.
- Free uniforms, textbooks, and scholarship assistance for all classes, to government and non-government aid schools as per prescribed policy on a uniform basis and irrespective of income limit will be provided under this scheme.
- Free textbooks to all students studying in class 9 to 12 in government and non-government aided secondary and higher secondary schools, the necessary facility on an equal basis irrespective of income limit will be provided.
Additional Benefits
The female students who availed 50% tuition fee under MYSY scheme can get remaining 50% tuition fee under Chief Minister’s Kanya Kelavani Nidhi scheme
- Disqualification: Any student can be disqualified at any stage if he/she received major disciplinary action as per institution policies. Or has submitted false/forged documents or particulars and qualified for scholarships.
One Scholarship at a Time
The students who qualify for various scholarships like the Digital Gujarat Scholarship or MSYS Yojana, can only apply for one scholarship. The institution/college will ensure that students avail single scholarship.

The MYSY scholarship application is online and requires the following steps:

Registration at MYSY Portal
Registration at the portal is mandatory for every student to proceed with the application online. The verification process is once required after completing the application at the concerned help center office. The step-by-step details are mentioned below:

- Click login/register on top rights side
- Select type of application i.e. Fresh/Renewal/Delayed Application
- If already registered, enter login credentials and proceed
- For registration click Registration on the bottom left side of the screen

Login at MYSY Portal
After login at the portal, with a welcome message, the following tabs will be displayed:

Students are required to fill out forms under the “application tab”, and “admission entry tab”. Documents in soft format can be uploaded under the “scan document tab”. After reviewing the application under the “lock application tab”, students have to print out the application under the “print application tab”.
The application will be verified by the concerned help center office of KCG, and the applicant’s signature will be taken in the presence of the concerned officer. If any correction is identified, students must click the “unlock application tab” repeat the process from the lock application tab, and submit the application.

MYSY Application Process-Renewal
The scholarship scheme will be renewed every year till completion of the course. For renewal of application, students are required to secure 50% marks in the previous year exam in which MYSY aid is granted. Additionally, at least 75% attendance is also required to apply for renewal of application.
The following steps will be carried out for renewal of scholarship application:
- Visit official website
- Login to the MYSY portal and select “Renewal Application”
- Complete the details such as “Board name, Stream, Application year, Enrollment No., etc.
- Fill out the renewal forms that appear after entering the above information.
- Upload the required documents as mentioned above in the “Document Requirement” section.
- Review and submit the application.
MYSY Application Process-Delayed
The delayed application is for those eligible students who have not availed the scholarships in their first year of admission in higher education. These students can get the scholarship benefits in 2nd or onward years of higher education under the delayed-application section. The following steps will be required to complete the scholarship application:
- Visit MYSY portal
- Select Login and press delayed-application tab
- Follow the guidelines and select “never applied for MYSY scholarship” at bottom of page
- Select registration link (If not registered before, the delayed applicants can only register from this link). The registration steps are same as mentioned above.
- After getting login credentials, through mobile number, proceed with filling out the forms, the procedure is same as mentioned in fresh application above.
MYSY Application Status
To find out the application status of online submitted scholarship application. The steps and pics are mentioned below for your ease:
- Visit MYSY portal and select “student status” section from top menu.
- Enter requisite information to find out status of your application.
Mode of Payment
The scholarship/yojana amount will be transferred to the student’s bank account directly through the Direct Benefit Transfer. The students are required to open bank account in their name and link Aadhar card with the bank.
Implementing Offices
The administrative arrangements and financial provisions at different levels shall be carried out by the following:
- For primary education: The Director, Primary Education
- For secondary/higher secondary education: The Commissioner of schools
- For higher education: The Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), a web portal by KCG in consultation with National Informatics Center (NIC) for the processing of aid for higher education is established. The help centers at different location (with in institution premises) are established to verify applications and assist students in this matter.
Application Verification and Approval
The submitted online applications will be forwarded to the following commissioner/director for verification and approval as per category and level:
- For Technical Education: The Director of Technical Education
- For Higher Education: The Commissioner/Director of Higher Education or concerned office (The Director, Health/Medical Science & Medical Education/Dental/Para-medical/Animal-Husbandry/Agriculture, etc.)
The verification of the students then returned to KCG for payment of scholarship amount.
Last Date of MYSY Scholarship
The last date to apply for Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana is 31 December every year, however, the last date for document verification at help center is 7 January every year, it can be changed/extended by the authorities.
